Finnair strike cancelled after last-minute deal
A strike which would have paralysed Finnair services over the next week has been cancelled after
the airline struck a deal with two of its unions.
Garuda Indonesia to double fleet by 2025
Garuda Indonesia plans to add up to 250 aircraft by 2025 to effectively double its fleet and meet
demand in one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets.
Airbus, easyJet claim world’s first man-made ash cloud
European jetmaker Airbus and British discounter EasyJet teamed up to create the “first-ever
significant artificial ash cloud,” part of a test to see if passenger planes can be equipped with
devices to detect the potentially dangerous particles.
Good flight planning becoming more important
The latest figures from the International Air Transport Association show that international traffic
growth and passenger demand in the Middle East is still outpacing the rest of the world.
EU aviation emissions proposals attacked from all sides
An amended Commission proposal to force airlines to pay a carbon charge on flights within the
European Economic Area was slammed by both left- and right-wing MEPs in the Parliament’s
transport committee yesterday (15 November).
