Government move to privatise 6 airports: AAI employees begin strike
Thousands of employees of Airports Authority of India (AAI) started a relay hunger strike across the
country to protest against the government’s move to privatise six airports.
CAE and Japan Airlines sign contract to implement the first Multi-Crew Pilot License training program in Japan
CAE and Japan Airlines announced today that they have signed a contract for the delivery of Multi-Crew
Pilot License (MPL) training by CAE to Japan Airlines pilot cadets.
PAL, Cebu Pacific cancel domestic flights on Oct. 23, 24 over scheduled radar upgrade
At least 73 Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Cebu Pacific domestic flights will be cancelled Wednesday and
Thursday due to a 30-hour maintenance procedure on the radar system at the Ninoy Aquino
International Airport (NAIA).
Airbus order underlines Mexico’s aviation growth
Mexico’s budget carrier Viva Aerobus has signed a deal to replace its entire fleet with 52 Airbus A320
aircraft by 2016.
Vietnam Airlines aircraft loses front tire in flight
Vietnam Airlines resumed operation of its ATR-72 airplanes early Tuesday after grounding them for an
inspection of their tires soon after one of them lost a front tire while landing the previous afternoon.
Natca outlines damage to U.S. aviation system
The National Air Traffic Controllers Association (Natca) wasted no time after the U.S. government’s
reopening to highlight the damage it says has been done to the country’s aviation system, reminding
users that getting things rolling again may not be as simple as flipping a switch.
Slowing demand sees Boeing cut 747-8 build program
Boeing has announced it will adjust the production rate for the 747-8 program from 1.75 airplanes to 1.5
airplanes per month through 2015 because of lower market demand for large passenger and freighter
airplanes.
