Feds, pilots warn of dangers when people point lasers into cockpits

Airline pilots and federal officials launched a campaign Monday to warn about the dangers of

people pointing lasers into cockpits.

FAA bans pilots’ personal use of electronic devices in cockpit

As the Federal Aviation Administration eases prohibitions against passenger use of portable

electronic devices, it’s restricting airline pilots’ personal use of devices in the cockpit.

Asean-EU aviation pact looms

The European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) have proposed

to take aviation cooperation to a new level by negotiating a comprehensive air-transport

agreement between them.

Emirates to ground planes during Dubai runway work

Emirates plans to ground 19 or 20 aircraft from May because of runway construction work at Dubai

Airport, the airline’s president Tim Clark said on Monday.

Garuda prepares for expansion

As Indonesia’s national carrier Garuda initiates efforts to enhance service through increased

frequencies and destinations, in anticipation of its move to join the SkyTeam global alliance in

March and the ASEAN Open Skies in 2015, it is looking at adding around 200 to 250 aircraft to its

fleet between 2015 and 2025.

CSeries third test aircraft to fly “within weeks”   

Bombardier is on track in its flight test programme for the CSeries and its third test flight aircraft is

preparing to take to the skies “within weeks”.
